Okay people I need help! I just added and new HU on my charger R/T. Am getting weak FM signal and NO AM AT ALL! Yes the anttenna is hooked up to HU. Can it be a sh*****ty anttenna adaptor or is the factory anttenna not strong enough for my SONY HU?

Please help

 

Severl things could be wrong

A) Bad Connection to the anttenna

B) Bad Antenna adapter

C) **** antenna

I would just recheck all your wiring to the hu first before you go crazy and buy a new antenna. Check the connection to the car as well, and the wiring at the antenna itself. Hope this helps you out some.

 

check your factory antenna connector, if i remember correctly there is a small wire inside. they do have a tendency to get bent when reinstalling. had that happen to a truck from the factory. its either gonna be in the factory connector or your adaptor. would check there first. next i would follow the anttena wire to where it makes another connection, usally in the right kick panel.

 

thanks for the info. When the weather gets warmer over hre NYC I will hopefully get my problem resolved with out having to spend any more money.

 

well I hope its that easy! Am also dealing with some engine noise that I cant completely get rid of. am 95% posotive that the problem is with HU or EQ ground. SO as soon as weather gets warmer over here In NYC I will hope resolve the problem without having to drop any more money!
