Default What amp?

I plan on getting four rockford fosgate 12" punch he's that run 200rms/400max a piece. What wattage would i need to power these with just one amp. Preferably rockford or alpine amps, but any other good ones will do.<edited><editID>Spyder</editID><editDate>37943.5422106481</editDate></edited>

I'd go for a 1000 watt amp, personally. Overdrive them just a bit, meaning the amp won't have to work it's tail off to get you the power the subs want. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

first off you need to know the ohm load of your speakers before you can decide on a amplifier if you get 4 single 4 ohm coil12's your load would be 1ohm if you wire them parallel. If you go with this set up go with the bd1000 its one of the best amps rockford makes (besides the 1500) its a class d so its alot more efficient than a class ab which is pretty much every other amp they make.class d just means that it uses more of the power you feed to it other than waste it. if you have any more questions fell free to email me at thestereogod1@yahoo.com </P>
