I need some help. I have an '03 2500 SLT 4x4 QC diesel with the factory Infinity stereo system. I want to install two 10" subs under the rear seat. Can I do this with the system I have or do I need to add an additional amp? Any other suggestions? How do I wire it? Any brand suggestions or advice? Thanks.

 

if your system is the same as mine, it will work, but its a bit of work. you need to run a convertor before the speaker ins on the factory amp. mine is under ym passenger seat. by the way, i have the 2002 infinity 6 system. i think thats what is called,and with my factory HU, the rear deck 6x9s disconnected, and 2 MTX12s, with a 3600w amp, mine Booms.

 

OK...let me ask this...is there actually a separate amp with the Infinity system? Is it built into the radio? Separate?
I'm certainly not an audiophile...but I would like to get some more umph out of the factory system if I can.
About the door rattle from the bass...I have the same problem but have found on days that are very hot I don't have the problem. I think the post about the plastic door liner is correct...and when the plastic is hot I don't get the buzz. On cold days...well that's a different matter. I think I am going to cut and remove the plastic door liner as suggested on this site. Thanks.
