Default Steering Wheel Remote for new head unit

I am going to install a new MP3/CD head unit.
I want to keep my steering wheel remote controls on the new unit.
Details.
2002 Durango R/T with 8 speaker Infinity system.
I have a 6 control steering wheel reomote under the wheel.
New unit is a Sony Xplod CDX-F5510.
I have purchased a Pac SWI-PS steering wheel remote adapter.
I am NO techie so am wondering if there are any problems or short cuts I should know of ?
Should be a easy " 3 wire " connection plus the plug in wired remote cable ?
Thanks in advance.
Richard

im actually curious about this myself as im about to purchase a new charger in the next 6 months...however...if you do purchase an aftermarket head unit...DONT buy sony...ive had nothing but problems with sony...buy an alpine...even if its a cheap alpine...its going to give you years of quality...not to mention i guarentee it will read discs that the sony wont due to scratches....etc...etc...like the saying goes...'you get what you pay for'

don't rule out Panasonic and Clarion for their video pieces.....quite impressive.....AND reliable.....i agree on the Sony being less than reliable
