im wondering if it is possible to change out the head unit...or the navigation system..whatever...and STILL have the controls on the steering wheel...if so...im sold...if not...i guess ill continue to use my remote control...hopefully someone knows about this...and also...one more thing...can you hook up external amplifiers to the stock dvd navigation system!??? thanks to everyone in advance!!

 

yeah....just check out peripheral electronics... the steering wheel interface section.....http://peripheralelectronics.com/web...ing.asp...make sure the brand of head unit you purchase will work with the SWI

and yes, you could use a rockford 3sixty or a JL audio cleansweep to "de-equalize" the output from the factory head unit.....or an Audio Control LC-6 would do the job, too.....just not as well

thanks...yeah i spoke with my audio shop today...he said it was possible with the steering controls...but didnt ask about the external amps...didnt think of it i guess...but thanks for the reply...its good to get help from someone with extensive knowledge about audio equipment!!
