anp and ground wire

i have recently upgraded my system and i had 8g wiring and the amp i have now recommends 2g......i was just wondering how critical this is if at all.

Well.....If it says 2 awg im guessing its a pretty big amp. I would change the wire. Bigger wire can carry more current than smaller, so the amps will get more power. Also you possibly could melt the 8 awg wire before the fuse pops if you changed the fuse to a bigger one.... melting wires=car fire[:@]

by the way what kind of amp is it,must be 1500watts or more for that kind of wire,an 2 guage wire will not be as flexable as 8 guage

right now i got a power acoustik 1000 watt amp but i plan on upgrading to at least a 1500 watt class d amp
