Default air bag indicator after install

I replaced the factory head unit of my 05 magnum with a new alpine cd, mp3 player a few months ago. Just after install the airbag light on the dash appeared and the annoying part is the bell chimes non stop. The stereo company says they have no idea what the problem could be and the Dodge dealership states that the radio communicates with the airbag and that is the issue. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it. And I am also curious if the airbag is still functional. Thanks.

Manuf. are trying to kill aftermarket and so they do dumb crap like integrate the air bags into a head unit..... I'm guessing some wire is now not hooked up....Im really no help here tho. What harness did you use to install the alpine?

I had the unit installed by a stereo company so I am not sure which harness they used.

I would have taken it back as soon as the light came on.

Yeah, take it back. That doesn't make sense that the readio would communicate with the airbag. No sense at all, but thena gain either does GM's databus diagnostics running through the radio (STUPID!!) but I've NEVER seen that happen. Ive never done a magnum yet (for some reason), but I've done just about every other new chrysler, Charger, Ram, Crossfire, ect.. even a Nitro. And I've never seen a light come on because of it. Are you sure they didn't leave an airbag plug unplugged after taking aoff a panel? A lot of times you have to unplug the passenger airbag disable switch and it's easy to forget to plug stuff back in.
