2006 ram 2500 new amps speaks and subs question
I am going to be upgrading my speakers adding two amps and two subwoofers this weekend...my question is I will be keeping the stock 4 speaker head unit in so I know I hook the new speakers to the same places but what should I be hooking the subs up too? splicing into the rear speaker wires? the fronts? somewhere else? I know I should get a new head unit and I will be when the funds are there but the sirius is all ready set up with this so.....please help I have my job letting me use the heated shop saturday so I would like to get this done then...
UPDATE:
I tried to use the factory head unit but too many wires to splice into line converters etc so I just got a good head unit with 3 rcas...my advice to anyone thinking of adding amps and subs to a factory head unit is...DON't BOTHER...
thanks for the help though

Yes jst tap into whatever speaker wire you want. Alot of amps have high level inputs in them, but if your doesn't you will need to get a line-output converter to hook the amp up.
There is a way to get good audio quality without replacing the head unit as you said in your original post. JL Audio, Alpine, and Infinity sell a converter that will give you afeter-market audio quality without replacing the HU. You'll also find this is very simple to instal and will allow you to use RCA's on your Amp instead of using a line-out setup.
