and i finally instaleld it today. well i had some problems like i need to get a mounting kit. but the way i have it now is good enough. well my main problem is i can take the front off! ive tried everything the directions are probly to vague for im really really dumb. if anybody had this type of radio please help me. ive pulled so hard the radio seems to be popoing out when i pull on it. and i tryed calling the support and they dont answer. thanks for any help

click on the link that you put in the post and read page 4 and 5 it tells you mor or less it dosnt have ay pictures to help thou good luck and let me know if you find a mounting backet i have a soney in my neon and the sterio just sits in there i need to mount it

 

my friend had that same exact sterieo in his 98 rt but it got stolen and i never asked him how to ge tthe face off. sorry good luck tho

 

Did you follow the instructions on page 5 that refers to a yellow piece of paper to remove the 'semi-permament' front panel?

After doing that, you should be able to open it and apply pressure to the center area of the underside of the piece that slides down. Do this while pulling down and towards your body.

Once you do all that, clap. And never buy that crap again.

We carry that at Best Buy, nice looking units but built from low quality plastic that breaks VERY easy.

i had no moreny. well i found the yellow paper today when i drove my friend ghhome. dont i feel dumb now lol. the mounting brackets are at best buy and ...walmart lol. but im using a sony one i cut down to size so it can somewhat hold my radio in there. now i have to get speakers for the front becasue i blew them out. they were stock, and i dont even have an amp! o well time for sony stuff. and i would of liked a ken wood more then a pioneer but no money. eventually....
thanks for the paper tip too becasue i sorta skipped that part.

 

As for the face plate I have the earlier model that looks the same(XDMR7700)I bought about a year ago and have never been able to get it off after I first put it on... I was trying to get it off as the connector wire for power to the face plate is severed and I am still trying to find a replacement for it.

 

Umm isnt there a screw you need to remove so you can get it off? They make some like that so when they are on display no one can rip off the face and steal it.

 

yup found the screws
i tooka long thin screw driver and slipped it under ring. that seem to get the farthest one behind off.
