Default CD-R TROUBLE

I have a 2004 Dodge SXT. I bought it brand new in 2004. Right after I bought it I played CD-Rs. After a while I had difficulty ejecting ANY cds from the factory cd player. Fortunately I was under warranty and had it replaced for free. The gentleman at the dealer said that the reason for this problem is that I was playing CD-Rs. He said that they messed up the player. Has anyone else heard of this? My friend says that the guy at the dealership is full of hooey. I have never played CD-Rs since then out of fear that I will mess it up. Can anyone help?
Thank you!
jason

That's the biggest load of BS I've heard from a dealership in a long time. The type of CD you play would have no effect on the ejecting mechanism. How dirty the disc is could effect it after time, but never the format. It's the same type of disc. Don't you think if you werent supposed to play CD-R's that the player wouldnt be CD-R compatible?? They have to make it capable of playing the disc, so if it was going to damage it, they just wouldn't make it play them.

The only scrap of thruth behind this is really really cheap CD-R's, where the label bubbles andpeels and small pieces fall off inside the radio. But that would be something you'd notice.

Sometimes my pioneer has problems ejecting some cd-r's, as they are slightly smaller than other cd's. But cd-r's arent going to mess up a unit.
