I too think the charity angle is fine...good marketing out of the gate. I also noticed the "slushbox" w/ disappointment.

Frankly, I do not understand why they would not just mate the Viper (heavily tested - raced, etc.) trans to the challenger? Hell, we're talking about creating a unique bell housing...not exactly rocket science??
