Wow. Not exactly a stellar review.

I'm not so skeptical of the 'rumble bee' name like the author. But the shortbed Ram is just wierd looking. It actually looks like a kids toy. It's just grown too big to look good as a short bed. In terms of styling and proportions, the 72-80 Dodge really was the best. That Warlock and the Lil Red Express really were the trickest trucks ever, just as the author says.

Longbed Ram doesn't look quite as odd - it's certainly head and shoulders above the bizarre new Ford F-150 with the uuuuuuuugly giant bed. The crew cab masks the wierdness of the Ford, but yesterday I saw the longbed 'regular cab' with that funky little door - I thought I would turn to stone looking at that hideous Medusa.

I love my Wrangler, but I'm in Texas and a pickup like THAT would sure turn my head!

Love the hood and overall color scheme...

Powerfull lookin' but not tacky! Brutish looking in a refined sort of way...

COOL!!!!!

"In a show of mercy, only 3700 units will be produced. Hopefully all the owners will think of them as a collectible and lock them in the garage "

I guess they didn't check their numbers. There were more than 5000 built and this year they'll build even more!?

And what about the HEMI Sport? any reviews on those?

The author is right on with the article. Aside from the **** poor attempt at spinning off a Coronet model with a truck, they offer this "thing" without any performance upgrades.

This vehicle falls way short of anything I would even consider collecting, but fortunately for Dodge, I don't make those decisions.

About the only worse move they made was coming out with the truck package they called the 'Hemi GTX'- talk about a slap in the face to what IMHO was one of the best musclecars ever.........

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't just a cosmetic do-over. Bingo on the GTX. WTF is next, a RAM Superbird?
[sm=icon_flaming.gif]

That would be a Ram GTX without the stickers and a taller wing no doubt.

I mean if you need some fresh ideas DC, email me, I'll GIVE them to you.

Well, you know me. It's more important to go than to look good, IMO.
Hang all that dead weight on it you want, but if it slows it down, what's the point. Sounds like the Ricer equation to me.

Well just to let you in on a little secret... rumor has it Dodge will ditch the Rumble Bee after 2005 and go for a new limited edition HEMI truck based on the 70's icon Warlock. Chrysler Group got the patient again to use the name Warlock on the truck line... but it is still up in the air.
