Chrysler almost sells Mopar!!
In case you had not seen or heard, the "New" Chrylser came within a whisker of selling the Mopar division according to the Wall Street Journal. Only after UAW talks appeared completely stalled did Chrysler "reverse" it's position on selling Mopar, thus saving UAW jobs within Mopar.
Man, that's a pretty sharp signal to me that the "soul" of this new Chrysler is pretty shallow. No tighter, deep rooted brand loyalty across the Penstar group than "Mopar". Wow, rocked me that they would even go there...

Glad the jobs were kept too.
The whole "close call" on selling Mopar just makes me worry about what they'll do with the heritage overall. They'd be crazy to dismiss the brand loyalty associated w/ Mopar, the racing legend and the "underdog" status the road runner, Charger, Superbee and other machines overcame against the Blue Oval and Chevy Boys bad in the day. Hopefully, they'll see that big time as they re-introduce the Challenger!!
