Default 2009 3/4 ton???

I know it's early still.... but, has anyone heard if they're going to release the new style 3/4 & 1 ton trucks in the 2009 model year?? Or maybe release them a year later like the did back in '02/'03? I'm planning on buy a 2009 Power Wagon with a Cummins as soon as the 2009's become available.

I have read that they will never put a cummins td in a powerwagon. What have you read or heard ??? They said the torque would destroy the powertrain with lockers on high traction surfaces like rocks in moab utah.

My buddy works at a Dodge dealership and we were playing around with numbers in the dealer price pages and the Cummins was an option on the 2008 Power Wagons....

i would be surprised to see a cummins in a powerwagon... mainly due to the weight of a cummins... The powerwagon is made for off roading and so forth the wieght of a cummins would cause that truck to sink....

We ordered an 08' PowerWagon and trust me, the diesel is NOT an option on it. In fact a person from one of the popular 4WD magazines asked Dodge that very question and the reply was "never will you see a 5.9 or larger diesel in one because on high traction surfaces like rock, with the diffs locked, if you romped on the throttle, it would destroy the drivetrain". Maybe if they come out with a smaller diesel in the 450lb ft range , then the drivetrain could survive. One can only hope.
