Default Dodge Lifetime Warranty ending January 2, 08?

Does anyone have any more information on why the Dodge Lifetime warranty is ending Jan 2, 08? I was planning on buying a new 08 dodge around February or March, but now am not sure if there won't be aLifetime Warranty on it. Is there another promotion of equal value taking its place? They got the industry's attention offering this Warranty, why would they stop it so soon?

I hope not. It gives buyers another good reason to choose a Chrysler vehicle. And after the pic of the '09 Ram leaked out, it's got me seriously looking.

Does anyone have a link to this? Or an official story or something?

Let me clarify just in case. It's the Lifetime Warranty Promotion incentive ending, not the warranty itself. So I guess if we buy a vehicle after January 2, we won't get the Lifetime Warranty included for free.

They probably will offer it as an expensive option, but that sucks they're getting rid of it. Totally don't want a Chrysler Crossfire now. Thanks Chrysler/Dodge
