I recently bought a NEW truck. 3 weeks later I found out the WHOLE right side, front to back, top to bottom, had been REPAINTED! To make a long story short dealers in the state of Illinois can spend up to 6% of MSRP on repairs, and they DON'T have to tell you! Now 6% of a $40,000 truck $2400 a dealer can do alot with that kind of money! I am still talking with my dealer about this. I just want everybody to know! Check your states Motor Vehicle Franchice Act! Don't let this happen to you! Once you sign those papers it gets real hard to get anything done! I bet most buyers don't konw this. Check that new vehicle out good!!!

 

Sounds like your truck got it's side scratched coming off the truck. I used to haul cars to dealerships back in the day and it happens all the time. At least after 1977 if the roof gets pulled off after hitting a bridge they have to send it back to the factory to be shredded after removing the VIN tag.
