Dodge Caliber Concept: Press Kit and Pictures:

RE: Dodge Caliber Concept: Press Kit and Pictures:
From the reading over at neonsonline.com, the Caliber will be the replacement for the Neon, it will ONLY come in hatchback form, and the name may be changed from Caliber to something else before production, due to the spelling in the English Dictionary is Calibre. It saddened me that Chrysler never developed further on the Neon (the '05s could have had 150 HP easy), and it saddens me further that they are replacing the Neon with THIS.

A New, Global Neon-Called Caliber
Even before the Daimler-Benz takeover, Chrysler sold Neons in a number of markets outside the U.S. But with DaimlerChrysler taking the Dodge brand to Europe, the 2006 Neon replacement, the Caliber, essentially becomes a world car. It's a good fit: The Caliber is a taller hatchback/wagon-style small car that tickles the edge of Europe's burgeoning multipurpose vehicle segment, and it also fits in with the Dodge wagon/Chrysler sedan strategy.
TALKING POINTS
Platform: Mitsubishi GS
Size: 60.4 inches tall; should have an easy step-in height.
Grille: Dodge crosshair in chrome; large headlamps and foglights.
Roof: Black graphic applique runs along roof into spoiler.
Engines: Most likely 166-horsepower 2.4-liter and possibly a 144-horsepower 2.0.

The Dodge Caliber is a key vehicle for DaimlerChrysler at Geneva, as the production version will spearhead the relaunch of the Dodge name in Europe. Due mid-2006, the Caliber effectively replaces the lackluster Neon. The Neon's dreary four-door body and crude mechanicals have been thrown away in favor of a bold SUV-minivan crossover with rakish, almost coupe-like, side glass, and a platform shared with the next generation Mitsubishi Lancer. Power is from new Mitsubishi/Chrysler joint-venture gas engine range and VW-sourced 2.0liter 140bhp diesel. Transmission options include a CVT. Inside are sliding/split folding rear seats, and a gear selector on the lower dash, like a minivan. Design chief Mike Nicholas acknowledges the Caliber is bold combination of design cues: 'Mixing themes like this works well for Dodge,' he says.

Hi. New member here. Been following this forum for a while now.
I just stumbled onto something interesting. There is a new family group in the DCX lineup calling it PM family.
It has 3 descriptions, all labeled as Dodge, that say Caliber FWD, Caliber SXT FWD and Caliber R/T AWD.
All of them have LHD next to them. It seems to me the Caliber is closer than we think.
