Would a Twin Turbo V6 be accepted as a Hemi replacement?
 

Chrysler is talking about how they will exceed 2011 CAFE laws (read more about it here), and even though the 5.7L Hemi with MDS gets excellent mileage, would a move to something like a boosted V6 to make V8 power with better efficiency hurt or help the company?

I would absolutely love a TT or SC'd V6. Especially in something like my Stratus. ;) Only RWD or AWD.

I love the idea of a TTV6, especially if it's built right, with the proper internals. Think about it, with a simple ECM upgrade you might blow the doors off a viper, with a charger. What I hate though is the thought of a more aerodynamic 300, and alot of 300 buyers would agree with me on that.

Twin Turbo V6? Sure! I don't think anyone would deny the Buick GN was a sick car, and that had a 3.8L TTV6. Yeah, I like my V8s gas guzzlers they may be, but I don't judge a car strictly on the type or engine. Any car that was built with passion and has that X factor, I'm a fan of. I think that's the real key for the future of car design: yeah the engineers need more aerodynamic cars with better fuel efficiency, but you don't need to sacrifice passion to do that. The worst thing a manufacturer can do is build a car that's just a car.

GN had single turbo, but it definitely was sick, imagine the power it could have had with 2.

Was it single turbo? I could have sworn it was twin... Either way, I'm not opposed to a forced induction V6 in a charger or challenger, maybe even the Ram if they could get the necessary torque for towing/offroading.

I think in the short term, it would hurt the image of Chrysler, and Dodge especially. The simple reasoning is that most people who buy the brand name buy it for a reason. It's got a Hemi....and we all know what the real Hemi was..

Bottom line, I think it would be a great idea and could be very good for Chrysler in the long term, but I think in the short term it could turn alot of people away who were looking for a V8 sound or power...regardless if the V6 made more power..

Forced induction via Supercharger was very good and profitable for GM for the better part of the last 20 years on V6 engines (Monte Carlo, Impala, Grand Prix, Regal)

It could also be very profitable and reliable for Chrysler too..

if its a Chrysler or Dodge, fast and has a good sound...then why not buy it?
