Default 8 year 80,000 mile warranty is changing!!!

The 8 year 80,000 mile warranty is going to be changed to only 6 years 60,000 miles by Chrysler or so I was told by a salesman today. The date of the change is supposed to be monday 03-09-09.
If you're going to buy a Chrysler or Dodge you might look into it.

What ever happened to the "lifetime/unlimited" powertrain?

and for bumper to bumper, i thought it had always been at 3/36

8/80 is only on the emissions side of the warranty....Have not heard of the change...I would have heard of it before any salesman...

Besides, I believe the emissions warranty are federal mandates. Chrysler doesn't have the say-so to lessen it.

i know that emissions standards are government mandates but i didn't know/think that warranties are part of the federal controls...
