Michael J. Accavitti named Vice President - Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada
John D. Plecha appointed Director - Jeep Marketing & Product Planning
Mark S. Bosanac to Director - Sales Planning & Programming
Robert M. Richard named Director - Fleet Market Development & Sales Planning
Paul F. Alcala appointed Director - International Service & Parts
Auburn Hills, Mich., Mar 03, 2005 -Chrysler Group today announced a series of job appointments intended to provide broad operational experience to key executives.
At DaimlerChrysler Canada, Michael J. Accavitti was named to the position of Vice President - Marketing. Accavitti is responsible for all Canadian product plans and marketing strategies, brand development, advertising and customer relationship management initiatives. He was formerly Director - Jeep Marketing & Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Product Planning for the Chrysler Group in Auburn Hills, Mich. Accavitti will report to DaimlerChrysler Canada President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Norman.
John D. Plecha was appointed Director - Jeep Marketing & Product Planning. In this position, Plecha is responsible for all Jeep marketing and product planning activities. In his new capacity, Plecha will be reporting to Vice President Global Chrysler & Jeep Marketing Jeffrey A. Bell. Plecha was formerly Director - Sales Planning & Programming.
Mark S. Bosanac was named Director - Sales Planning & Programming. Bosanac is now responsible for all sales planning and related activities. Formerly, Bosanac was Director - Fleet Market Development & Sales Planning.
Concurrently, Robert M. Richard was appointed Director - Fleet Market Development & Sales Planning. In this position, Richard heads all fleet sales and market development activities. Richard was formerly Director - International Service & Parts. Both Richard and Bosanac will report to Vice President - Sales, Service & Parts Operations Raymond M. Fisher.
Paul F. Alcala was appointed Director - International Service & Parts. In this position, Alcala is responsible for service and parts activities related to Chrysler Group in international markets. In his new capacity, Alcala reports to Senior Vice President - Global Service & Parts Christine K. Cortez, with a dotted line reporting relationship to Executive Director - International Sales and Marketing Thomas Hausch. Alcala was formerly Director - Beijing Jeep Corporation.
"These appointments demonstrate the commitment Chrysler Group has made to develop employee talent at all levels of the Company," said Chrysler Group Executive Vice President - Sales, Marketing & Service, Joe Eberhardt. "Part of that development is broadening one's experience across departmental lines and across borders. These new opportunities will provide the professional challenges that they need to meet in order to excel in a growing global organization."
The new assignments will take effect April 1, 2005.
Chrysler Group also announced today that DaimlerChrysler Canada Vice President - Marketing, Ronald B. Smith will retire on March 31.
