6-Speed Auto Transmission On The Way: 68RFE:
I'm assuming that the 68RFE will fit behind both. I've heard (don't quote me on this) that the MB diesel may be an option, but it won't replace the cummins. In my opinion, it would be stupid to
let the cummins get away from Dodge. But you know.....I see some of the decisions made by the upper brass at DC and this would not suprise me in the least.

Do you think that any of these auto transmissions you guys are talking about will be in the next Ram SRT-10 Regular Cab? I know that the Quad Cab already comes in automatic but I want the regular cab but not in stick. Thanks...

Ok, just trying to understand what you guys said above:
The 68RFE is a Six Speed Auto for the Dodge Ram Diesel 2500/3500 2007 Model year, to be release to the public about September 06? or would that be a January 06 for a 2006.5 Model year?

I just read that the 2006 Explorer will have a 6-Speed automatic coming out late this summer. Why is Chrysler taking so long to match it?

because chrysler's will work correctly, unlike the piece of ford's one
Ford is already offering 6 speeds in many vehicles. There is no more Chrysler. The Germans bought it out in 1999 and did away with the company but spent its money. It was in all the papers.
Like it matters......A sixth gear is only for speeds in excess of a hundred plus miles per hour........and top speeds of 180 plus......whos gonna use it????????
