NOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't waste your money or time. You pay an assload of $ and they basicly pass everyone thru. You never get to work on real life problems. Everything is canned with modules. I see 'graduates' from these dog-and-pony show schools that cant fix there way out of a paper bag. And not many dealers around here will even consider hiring a grad from there since our local tech college is awsome. State funded technical/community colleges are WAY better. Don't be afraid to look at neighboring states. Many have reciprocity where you pay the same tuition as instate students. Get on the education web site for your state. You'll find all the post-secondary schools and find the auto programs. Even if you're out of HS, go back to your school and have a guidance councelor help you out with the opportunities out there.
Wisconsin has one of the best technical schools and most of their automotive programs are first rate along with highly qualified instructors. Some examples of top quality tech school are in Kenosha that has received tons of $ from Snap-on. Every student in that program is certified on all Snap-on diagnostic equipment like the Modus. In Fennimore, they have one of the best engine machining programs. Milwaukee has an associates degree specializing in Fords and Ford sponsors a ton of $ into the program. In total there are 16 tech colleges throughout the state and all are top notch. The Wisconsin Dealers Association funds a $6500
Scholarship and of that $ 3,500 is for a Snap-on tool set. As far as I know it's the only state with this funding.
If you're still in HS, you need to get into the Skills USA program and the Ford/AAA competitions. If you do well Scholarships are awarded.. Ask your auto teachers for more info and if they have no clue, get on the net and educate yourself on these opportunities. check with guidance councelors for more info, if your already out of HS, go back and have them help you.
