Default 2006 Stratus??

this was listed in Car and Driver's database...but there was no link or anything...just this brief description:

2006 Dodge Stratus Redesign on new Mitsubishi C-platform. Convertible, coupe, sedan and sport-wagon variants expected, big differentiation between Dodge & Chrysler models.

does anyone know anything about this? perhaps redriderbob?

this what i found from another forum, looks kinda wierd to me

The car is most likely the STRATUS replacement. Chrysler recently revealed that there will be no sedan replacement for the Neon. Zietche said it at Geneva. He mentioned that the Neon did not meet profit expectations.

What the car may be is a "mule." It is the next generation Stratus underpinnings with the old generation body panels to avoid people from capturing pictures of the car.

Thats not a charger at all. It sits way to high, the rear fenders are not the chargers and the front end is too rounded. Its obvious thats no charger. It is stratus w/ a diff front end sitting higher up than the current one.

Whatever happens. I hope the R/T coupe looks good and it has a more powerful engine.

i'd be surprised if there was a 2 door for the next stratus which chrysler axeing almost everything with 2 doors cause they suposedly don't sell well (which is only because their 2 door cars are all underpowered to be a perfomance coupe and are beaten in acceleration by their trucks and sedans), I think I remember someone posting something here that the next one won't have a 2 door version.

edit: here's the link http://autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101450
