Default Why Dodge named its SUV Durango?

Does anyone know anything about why Dodge decided to use the name Durango? I have heard it has something to do with Durango, Colorado. It would be very helpful to me because I am writing a paper on why companies name their products or models what they name them.
Thanks
Camille

I live not all that far from Durango, CO and it is located in some beautiful and somewhat wild/rough country. People who know of it tend to think of the old west and the tough things that went on there.......not a bad image for a vehicle that is supposed to get you out in the places people/vehicles might not always go.....
