Chrysler pulled out of sponsering racing the Vipers back a few years ago, so that hurt any remaining Vipers competing and pulling in the big wins. Chrysler came to some point where they decided they didnt need the publicity of winning the big races anymore to help them sell cars.
The new comp coupe puts out more than the 500 Hp rated for the reg SRT's and does have some carbon components along with other weight saving parts. It is the replacement for the "GTS-R" of the last body style and can be bought for $150,000... and the last time I checked, you cant buy a Corvette in this kind of trim from chevy as a "factory produced" model.
And the new body style Viper was out before the new Corvette was so that makes the Vette look like the Viper, not the other way around. But it really doesnt make any difference, its still doesnt look as good as the original Vipers of 1992 to 2002.
