Question of the Week What is Your Favorite Generation Dodge Ram?
Even though I love them all and own a 3rd gen, I picked 2nd gen. I love my truck so much but every time I see a 2nd gen I cant help but turn my head. Growing up that was my dream vehicle.
I have had many small oil leaks the past 8 months....now I have a very small one that I am told will be a night mare.
Its below the vacume pump and above the Oil Pan (Althought the Oil Pan gasket could be leaking too) I was inform that it is leaking due to a gasket on the same side of the motor as the vacume pump but on the front of the motor where the aluminum cover is??? I cant recall what its called but I was told 8 to 10 hours labor....Front clip and bumper need to be pulled ect ect ect
Maybe just put some lucas in it and hope for the best?
I Know....wishfull thinking.... I am in south eastern Idaho if anyone could help me out in staying away from my favorite mechanic :>)

Second off, what is your Year Make Model Engine Transmission. I assume you have the Cummins because you talk about the vacuum pump?
Third, you'd be more likely to get help if you start a new thread in the tech section.
Good luck
Voted for 2nd gen. I just think the look of the 3rd and 4th gen's.. went sissy honestly.. Look at the newer fords, they look like the beasts that a 2nd gen looks like! just my opinion though :P
I have had just about every American truck known to man, from a 61 Scout to my '12 ram 1500. I've done a cold air, thermostat, catch can, electric fan and programmer, and my Dodge is by farrrrrr the best...in every aspect. Mine is the express in red, and I love it!
my first dodge was a 1952 then a lot of 50's,60's 70's 80's dodge trucks. I have a 96 dodge ram 1500 5.9 automatic trans. that I had the trans. rebuilt last June and I had the truck in back in this shop 3 times after that and the trans. still leaks. I still like this truck. I'm from the old school. LOL.
