Default SRT PT Cruiser?

Has anyone heard the idea of a SRT PT Cruiser? From what I understand the PT Cruiser GT and the SRT-4 have basically the same engine, but for some reason none of the mopar performance parts cross over. I heard a rumor that there may be an SRT PT coming out, but I have no idea if there is any truth to that or not. I think it would make a pretty cool little car.

That ran by my mind a few days ago when a GT PT was at a stop light, why not make the 2.4L into an SRT and badge it an SRT?

As far as I know the engine and tranny (the manual at least), are the same in the SRT-4 and the PT Cruiser GT. For whatever reason though, Mopar does not list the staged performance kits for the GT. Granted, the GT does not have the same suspension and braking system as the SRT, but since the chassis are the same basing design, you would think most of these components would cross over. I'd almost like to build a car like this, if it's possible.

Electrical is not the same at all, along with a few other problems...

But I agree, would be cool to have the PT be deemed SRT...

I wonder how big of a nightmare it would be to convert one.
