Default Chrysler: Record-Setting Month for Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles in Feb

Chrysler Group Announces Record-Setting Month for Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) Sales in February 2006
DaimlerChrysler Media

Auburn Hills, Mich., Mar 7, 2006 -
Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers posted a new Certified Pre-owned Vehicle (CPOV) February sales record of 9,319 units, up 2 percent from February 2005 totals and advancing 10 percent from January 2006 results. Year-to-date sales totaled a record 17,764 units, 3 percent above year-to-date sales last year.

Chrysler Group CPOV sales grew in several key areas in February. Large vehicles made a turnaround with notable sales increases for both the Dodge Ram Truck in the large pickup segment and the Dodge Durango in the full-size SUV segment. The Jeep® Liberty showed growth in the mid-size SUV segment while sales of the Chrysler Town & Country increased its share of the Minivan segment, compared to February 2005 CPOV results.

“Each CPOV vehicle has undergone an extensive background check and our Chrysler Group dealers select only the best vehicles for the CPOV program," said Ray Fisher, Vice President — Sales, Service and Parts Operations, Chrysler Group. “In addition, a complimentary Carfax Vehicle History Report saves the consumer time and provides peace of mind when buying a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge CPOV product, which has a positive impact on our sales.”

Chrysler Group offers one of the most comprehensive Certified Pre-owned Vehicle programs in the industry. For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used vehicle program, it must be a 2001 through 2006 model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a stringent 125 point inspection. Chrysler Group's CPO vehicles are backed by an 8-year/80,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000-mile Maximum Care TM warranty, 24-hour, 365-day full roadside assistance, $35 per day rental car allowance and a Carfax Vehicle History Report.

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used TM ," Chrysler Group's CPO vehicles are sold only through Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships which have earned the Five Star Certification. Five Star Certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified Five Star dealers.
