Ford developing 6.2L for F-150...
My question is...will Dodge reconsider offering the 6.1L Hemi in the half tons because of this? They could drop the v-6, have the 4.7 be the base engine, the 5.7 Hemi as the middle offering and the 6.1 Hemi as the top dog. The 6.1 could then be the base engine for the HD series and they could develop a truck version of the upcoming Hemi v-10 to go along with the Cummins. That would be sweet!!

RE: Ford developing 6.2L for F-150...
Ford F150 being the slowest truck on the road, would need a 6.2+L Engine. But its still just a ford, and the Gas mileage will be even worse than their already pathetic #s, just like it is with their bigger diesels. Dodge sees no reason to make a Gas Engine bigger than 6.1L With significantly more power than the competitors and better gas mileage, why would they bother. The 6.1 Might see itself in a Half ton, SRT-8 Ram maybe. Who knows

RE: Ford developing 6.2L for F-150...
I think everybody will settle down until the gas prices go down. If I were Dodge I would still keep the V-6, there are a lot of people who would want that. I say do it like this:
Low: 3.7 V-6, Standard: 4.7 V-8, Medium: 5.7 V-8, High: 6.1 V-8. But I say stick with the .7's and make the 6.1 a 6.7 to flow with the pattern. If I were Ford I would either drop the 4.6 V-8 or make it more powerfull. If I'm correct it only makes 240HP and their 4.2 V-6 makes 220, but those numbers might be a bit off.
