Default RE: End Of Dodge Ram SRT-10 Production

Not news to me, there should be a post somewhere around here about they stopping SRT-10 Ram production (was rumor at that time)... There is currently a thread about this in the Ram SRT-10 forum...

But thanks because this is kind of official now. It all makes sense though. There will be no more of the current Viepr engines made. So naturally they would stop making the Ram SRT-10. I'm betting a new Ram SRT-8 or SRT-10 is coming. Someone told me a few days ago that they have seen covered trucks at Chelsea...

Default RE: End Of Dodge Ram SRT-10 Production

I talked to some guys at a dealership yesterday, but of course they won't know, about their opinion of the rumor about the Ram SRT-10 being discontinued. They said "No way, man! That is DC's pride and joy right there, there is no way they could be discontinuing a truck that has set all the records for their segment." I replied "Well they have no more competition, but I also heard that they might be planning to put in a 6.4L HEMI with 505 hp and make it an SRT-8." They replied "Well that would make sense. I haven't heard about the SRT-10 being discontinued, but I would totally be surprised if DC just all-of-a-sudden stopped producing a truck that turns heads so much. I would think if it would be the last of the performance pickups, then it would have been announced more and they would have given people more time to purchase one, like they did with the neon."

EDIT UPDATE: Just got mail back from Askdrz.com

New Vehicle Information - ASKDRZ Brand Site
Brief Description:
Ever since the ram srt-10 has come out, I have been intensely wanting
one. Within less than a year I plan to buy one, special ordered with
night runner package and a few other things. (I am currently almost done
paying for a dodge ram that i have already purchased.) Anyway to the
point, rumor has it ALL OVER the internet that the ram srt-10 production
has been halted and no more can be bought. It has been discontinued. Do
you plan on a 6.4L srt-8 ram? Please let me know. I don't ever buy
used
My question was limited in characters so I had to sum it up.

AskDRZ.com is laughable. All your going to get a manufacturer polictically correct and safe answers. Wishy washy at best.

As for the end of SRT-10 Ram production being over for good?...

So does this also mean no more V10 Vipers either? The engine goes back to the LA 273-340. Pretty dated technology. I would much prefer a 383 Hemi - in either Viper or Ram.

Nope...the Viper will still be a V10. They're bumping it up to 8.4L though. I'm guessing it's still the LA based v10, which is good. They'd never take the V10 out of the Viper. They'd lose pretty much all their customers.
