Insurance companies design cars now? Disable them darn Chimes!
This is a plea to Dodge and all the rest of the car manufactures. The basis of this post is to say if the customers didn't ask for it specifical, stop making the following standard equipment:
1. Irritating selt belt chimes (default should be OFF unless the OWNER wants it on).[:@]
2. Irritating ignition key chimes (default should be OFF untess the OWNER wants it on).[:@]
3. Double tap keyless entry remotes (default should be one push of the keyless entry remote opens ALL the damn doors unless the OWNER wants this stupid function on).[:@]
The only useful chime that could possibly be of use, that is yet to be seen, is a chime for when the emergency brake is engage and the operator accidentally drives the vehicle.
ALL the other chimes need to be scraped and never installed again on new vehicles as a default system. Why do we make vehicle owners do the Disable This Crap Dance. In a few more years, I can vision this in the owner's manual if we keep listening to insurance companies: "To disable... put the key in the ignition and turn to on position, hold your nose with the right hand, grab your left butt cheek with your left hand, sing 'please stop that damn chime', then turn the ignition key off" to disable these irritating nuisances?![:'(]
For you readers, please ADD any other default design nuisances you wish the vehicle manufacturers would change!
