Default 440 crankshaft question

I pulled the crank out of a 440 automatic and put it in my 440 manual. I still have the motor on the engine stand so it is hard to see, but It feels like there is a plug in the back of the crank where the pilot bearing should go. so my question is, is there a plug in the back of the crank shaft since it came out of an automatic car? or, are the crankshafts different between an automatic and a manual ? I doubt it is the later one of the two but I'm not sure. If nobody here can help me I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I pull the motor off the stand.

Default RE: 440 crankshaft question

I have pulled a "million" of these apart, some automatic car cranks were machined for the pilot bushing and some were not, I have found no consistency for why or why not?? Sorry, pull it off and take a look.
