I.D. A transmission?
Hello, this is my first post so please excuse me if it's in the wrong section. My dad has a transmission that he has had for years that is just sitting by our shed. He says all he knows about it is it is supposedly a 4-speed manual transmission for a 1960s Mopar. I took a look at the numbers on the side and on the side cover I see "C 99129", and on the tail shaft I see "C 99126-2". Does anyone know what car this may have come out of?
The reason why I ask about this is because I have a 1987 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 5-speed manual with a busted transmission. My uncle decided to borrow it and trash the planetary gear (if that is what it is called?) and I'd like to know if maybe I can use parts from the 4-speed. I'm not really slick on transmissions, so I could be waaayyyy off. If you'd like pictures, let me know.

Check online at year one I think. They have a tray decoder and it will tell you pretty much what kinda car it came out of. And what it is. Google works good to find it to. It's how I found my was a replacement trany.

That's the first thing that comes up. If it were a 4-speed manual from an original Hemi car, that is great. Unfortunately, there is a good chunk missing out of the bell housing, but that could be replaced. Do you think it would be worth taking it apart or try to fix it up and sell it?

Okay, a friend of mine did a little further research and he came up with it being from a 1969 Dodge Dart 2-door 340 4bbl. It has the Hurst shift package, but my dad chopped the shifter off to put it on his Dakota.
