New to the forum, found you guys on the web this morning. Anyway, been thinking about building a winged Super Bee convertible. I've found a guy that builds Daytona/Superbird parts and he told me that if I found a Super Bee convertible that I could convert it over.
I'm thinking this would be really wild. Of coarse the car would be yellow with that big black bee stripe on the trunk lid.
What do you guys think?
So I'm in the market for a Super Bee convertible at a reasonable price.

I owned a couple of "real" Superbirds in 1970 and I gave them away by today's standards. I wish that I could of kept them but you got to do what you got to do.

 

Since Ma Mopar never built a Super Bee convertible, you'll have to build your own. Sounds like it would be a cool project, depending on where you get the parts from. I'd recommend an outfit called 'Dayclona', if you haven't heard of them. I've heard good and bad on some of the wing car parts fabricators, and having seen their work first hand, they are the ones I'd recommend going with. Good luck, and let us know how it progresses.

I have found a donar car today, it's about 400 miles from me but worth the money.
I am going to go with a 69 Coronet convertible. It's a pretty nice looking car equipped with a 440 engine and a auto transmission.

This is not going to happen over nite but it's a great start.

Checked out a Mopar graveyard here in the Ozarks yesterday just to see what"s available. Looks like I'm going to go with a 70 Coronet convertible. The ole boy that owned the salvage yard thinks it's a great idea.

Anyway, I'm going to call the car "BumbleBee" rather than SuperBee. I think it fits.
She's gonna have either a hemi or a 440-6pack and a automatic tranny. Of coarse, it's going to be yellow with the big bumble bee stripe.

Can't wait to start work on this.
