Is there someone out there that can tell me the correct hood for a 71 charger. And did dodge make a bulge hood with NO vents up at the cowl??? If so are these rare?
There were three types in '71 that I can recall. The first was a flat hood; the second was the standard hood for the R/T's and Super Bees which had a bulge with a series of fake louvers on the top, and the third was the Air Grabber, which had a scoop on a vacuum switch that opened and closed, and fed cold air into the air cleaner when open. I'm not sure about the vents though... that one would require some research.
That air vacumn vent that let the cold air in sure was cool! the more gas u gave it the wider it would open! It's a sweety-pie!! R.V. Jay was it an Air-Grabber?
