You can tell if it has the heavy rods by the crank dampner, it is unique to the six pack 440's.

Man, you got a nice ride there. I had one almost exactly like it except the wheels a few years ago. Same setup also. '69 Roadrunner with a '70 440 6-pk, even the same color and hood. I will try to post some pics of it sometime.

I would get as much ifo from that previous owner as possible. Did he order the car, any documents, etc. Besides being great info, valuable documentation down the road.

Thanks for all the information. I ran the engine on the dyno and it produced 400hp/500lbsft. Tried several different combinations, ie. 750cfm, 850cfm, sixpack set up, dual plane intake, single plane, dominator, stock exhaust manifolds, custom hedders. In the end the sixpack set up will be used, It did not post best numbers, but it looked the best and sounded the best. Limiting factor of engine is stock 906 heads. I would like to post pics but I don't know how. Any help posting pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked to see if the engine is or isn't the original #'s matching one for it? The last part of the VIN # will be on the engine block right above the oil pan rail on the passenger side. This will let you know if the engine was swapped or not and if it is the #'s matching engine, it will tell what the engine really is, even if the induction has been changed over the years, by checking the 5th digit of the VIN # it will tell you what engine is supose to be in it.

The value is based on many different things and if it's an original 440+6, but not the #'s matching engine for that car, then the value is quite a bit less. The money is in the #'s matching and an original #'s matching 440+6 Roadrunner is usually worth 40%-60% more than a #'s matching 383 Roadrunner. Anything that is an all #'s matching 426 Hemi car is worth as much as the owner is willing to sell it for.

I also am trying to find out if the 440 Six pack in my 73 Charger is an authentic six pack engine. The guy I bought it from told me the engine and Hemi 727 Trans in my car are from a 70 GTX 440+6 with a Hemi-Automatic. My stamp looks very similar to yours.

First line: F440
Second line: 2328 6-80
Third line: 10 27HP

From what Ive read, the second line is the build date and the third is engine options. But on this stamp none of these option codes are listed on any information I have found .
What I do know is that the F in on our stamps mean it's a 1970, your HP2 means High performance built during second shift, my HP with no # following means high performance
built during the first shift. I am also curious of the value of my engine and trans. The former owner says he owned the engine and trans since the mid seventies. If you find anything out let me know...Thanks.
