Default Rear Tire/Wheel sizes

I have a 1971 Charger Super Bee. What are the largest tires and wheels I can put in the rear that won't rub the frame or inner fender well?

15x8 wheel, 4.5" backspacing, 235/60R15 or 245/60R15 is what the ol google said to me.

I assuming you are talking about radials? I put non radials on my Charger many years ago but have to check to see tire size. I wanted wide tires on the rear. Keep in mind you can fit a wide tire in and it won't interfere but usually will hit the outer lip when driving. Some people used to bend it in a bit to squeeze in the largest tire. This link may be helpful...

Thank you very much for the link to the charts, this will be very helpful. I don’t want to cut or bend anything like I did when I was in High School, but I do want to put 15x9 slotted US Mags Indy-U101 on the rear, so I was considering 275/60R15’s on the rear, thinking that they will tuck inside nicely. 235/70R15’s up front to finish it off.

What brand of tire are you using?

Aluminum slotted rims are my favorite! I used them with Pro Track tires(with white lettering). If i where to do it again today i would get a large diameter rim and put on a tire like this...

This is a Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R Radial. But can't go wrong with BFGoodrich radial t/a's either.

Thanks again, after more shopping I’ve decided on MT Sportsman S/T.

Post a pic when you get them on. Like to see what they look like on slots.
