Default er.2 71 superbees #maching 1 vin apart.

Well me and my dad bought 2 71 superbees numbers matching and a roadrunner. We figured a decent fine seeing the roadrunner was drivable, the green superbee was fully running with no rust, and the red superbee was is restorable conditon. After we payed and got them loaded up the guy we bought them from told us that the superbees where 1 vin apart. We, not beliving him go up to check, and what do we find? They are. So we get home do the looking up on it and find out there are only 3 sets like that in the world. I was just wondering what you guys think they are worth( opinions). Il post some pictures when i get home.

Also some facts on them.

Both came out with 383 4bbl and 727s, Green one with 3 on the tree, and red with floor.
The red one is undergoing full resteration at the moment, with only 1 Qp needing fixing.
The green one is our sunday cruiser with a 440 in it12.5:1 compression ross pistons, roller rockers and lifters, solid. 509 intake lift not sure on exaust. M1 intake 1000 dominator NOS duel stage 200 hp plate kit 1/78 in headers edelbrock aluminium heads balanced, blueprinted. Eagle I beams, 7AL3 and all the other goodys. Trans was professionaly build by a shop in aberdeen with racing bands and drums and transbrake. 1200 hp nirous holeshot flexplate and Tourqe converter from tci. The body is in mint condition with no rust, but it needs a sand down and repaint, and had a small dent by trunk from garage door opener malfunction. We are planning a rebuild on the car next year hopefully.

That's a very sweet find you've made, congradulations. The only way the fact they are 1 VIN # apart would increase their value is if they were completely restored to original #'s matching condition the way they rolled off the assembly line. The one being built up kinda kills it's collectability with the other. You should transfer all the go fast parts over to the Roadrunner and convert the Bee back to stock. Have you consulted Galen Govier on these cars yet? If not, then you should as he is the numbers authority on Mopars and keeps records and track of every Mopar he comes across.

What year and condition is the Roadrunner in?

Thanks for the reply, i havnt talked to him yet, but i think i will now that you said somthing. The roadrunner was in need of serious work. A few decent dents, and it was primer gray, interior needed full redone, the original engine turned #7 rod(383, they ran it out of oil, didnt throw the rod our the block tho so lucky) with a stock 440 in it. we sold the 440 and currently the roadrunner is all jammed viper red with interior in and the new drivetrain is in. We did everything from pullin dents, droping rear end and bushings. ill post pictures later when i get home on it also.

Edit: The roadrunners a 69

You sold an original block.... you Sold... a Numbers matching block.... 440.... I think you lowered your car's price by atleast 1/2.

Those are treasures. Especially 2 cars with 1 VIN # apart. If you can halt your progress with these cars and re-trace the buyer of the block, then do so at all costs.

I think I have replied late... But I hope it can help a bit.
