Road Runner Fender tag authenticity
I am in the market for a 1970 Road Runner and have been cruising ebay lately. My question is "if the fender tag is attached with screws, does this mean that the tag maybe be a fake, or not original"?
For example:

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,

That's how they were all attached. Just have to know the numbering system of the particular car you're looking at, and know where the other numbers are to check to authenticate the car. The build sheet helps, too.
The best way to determine if your fender tag is legit is to match it up with both the VIN number and the options which are on the fender tag. The last digits on the fender tag should match your VIN found on the drivers side dash seen through the windshield. It is a low optioned car, some have 2 full fender tages, if you can post the actual codes here so I can decode them for you as well as the VIN number from the dash. This way I can tell you for certain either way.
The build sheet is the greatest find, but it's far harder to find. It is usually found under the drivers seat between the seat cushion and the springs, but it can also be found on the back side of glove box, under the carpet, in the seat back between the material and it's backing or under the back seat. It will list everything including where it was purchased originally and far more detail as to it's options.
