Default 1966 charger w/440

i have a 1988 charger with a 440 in her..i replaced plugs and wires last weekend and now the carb spits gas and lets out smoke when i try and start her...i think its misfiring bc i may have mixed the wires. is there any kind of wiring diagram that tells what point on the dist cap goes to what cylinder??..im going to try and get the dist top dead center and see if its just timing..if that doesnt solve it i probley mixed the wires...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
thanks

The distributor cap should have two 1's by different plug wiresockets with arrows facing opposite directions, yours will be the one with the arrow going counter clockwise and that 1 is for your #1 cylinder. The firing order is as follows: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

You probably solved this problem long ago, but this diagram proved helpful to me when I first started messing around with Big Blocks
