I currently own an 06 GTO and I love it... But I think that the SRT8 charger is the most beautiful car on the road...plus it has another much needed advantage... it's got 4 doors!

I have two teenage daughters who hate riding in the back and Im less than thrilled when I see them letting the front seat up just enough to scrape their bodys through between the seat and door...( grumble )

I want to know if there are any things / probs I should look out for in an SRT8 ? Im thinking about buying a used 07 with 15,000 miles for $ 32,000 is this a good price? I know the cars are about the same in power the GTO has 25 less horseys... But I swear I think my goat is quicker...maybe its just me. I do NOT want to make anyone in here mad...I love both cars VERY much!!

So pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease people help me out with some info on these cars. Thank you so much.

 

HI...$32,000 PROBALLY IS A DECENT PRICE FOR THE CAR. WHAT OPTIONS DOES IT HAVE?
CHECK THE FORMER OWNERS MAINTENANCE LOG FOR OIL CHANGES,ETC. ALSO SEE IF THEY HAD THE 1-2 UPSHIFT PROBLEM(WHICH IS JUST A MATTER OFA REFLASH OF THE TCM.) THE WEIGHT OF THE TWO CARS IS ALMOST THE SAME,WITH THE SRT RUNNING MORE HP.NEVER DROVE A NEW GTO, BUT THE SRT CHARGER HAS A GREAT RIDE AND ROAD FEEL FOR BEING A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE.MY 06' CHARGER WAS USED WITH 8100MI,AND I PAID AROUND $34,000. KEEP IN MIND BY GETTING THE 07' USED, THE FORMER OWNER ALREADY PAID THE"GUZZLER TAX" SO YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THAT ON TOP OF THE $32K. GOOD LUCK! AND DRIVE A DODGE!

 

Thanks man... Not sure what options it had they sold it today...dammit! upshift? does it slip ? My GTO drives and rides great and it's built like a tank. I just like the style of the SRT8 better plus those 2 extra doors..lol I may just wait a bit longer and let the price come on down..it has too due to the gas prices going up... it just makes sense. Why do they charge us a gas guzzlar tax anyway? isnt it bad enough we have to buy the damn gas! Anyway, sorry got off in a rant there.

I feel keenly qualified to respond since I had an 06 GTO with 6 speed manualand now am the proud owner (for the past 4 days)of an 07 Charger SRT8 ! The GTO is a good car. It is fast, comfortable for the front seat passengers, nice interior, but it hasvery littlecurb appeal. The Charger feels just as fast, also has a great interior (with a lot more options available - Nav, DVD, hands free phone, etc) and the SRT8 versions aredrop deadgorgeous. I picked mine up for30K with 6K miles and option groups 1,2,and 3.
You will NOT be disappointed in any way!
