Default Getting no action from the factory...

Hey all, I ordered my black Charger SRT-8 from one of my local dealers in mid-September. As of yet, neither the dealership nor I have heard any news on whether or not the car is being built or not. I have made a sizable downpayment, all the paperwork has been filled out for the car, and my credit has been approved. Is there anything else I could try to get the wheels in motion?

I assume you have a VON but nothing gets built till you have a VIN.

Did the dealership contact the factory and ask if a VIN has been assigned?

I'm not exactly sure what VON stands for, but the car was ordered from the dealership. To my knowledge, no VIN number has yet been assigned.

I was told by the Sales Manager that the fellow in Brampton who takes the orders was on vacation or some dumb thing (obviously some line they fed me) so they haven't had time to place my order yet...*scratches head in confusion*...I find it hard to believe that they leave ONE guy in charge of receiving orders and processing them...you'd think they'd at least have a temp fill in for him! lol

Anyways, I'm really getting impatient with these folks. I sent DCX-Canada an email in complaint of the delays I have been experiencing...basically, they told me that I have no choice but to continue relying on the dealership for further information. *sighs* I understand that they are building alot of these cars, but after three months you would think they could at least send out an aknowledgement or something!

Oh well, I guess the waiting game continues.

Hi dartman

VON is "Vehicle order number" the dealer has to provide you with that when he submints your order to DCX

These are the important build codes:
BA new order that hasn't been checked
BX good order available for scheduling
D Firm schedule - dealer has allocation and all parts available
D1 Gateline schedule - scheduled to be built

Once you reach D1 you can have a lot of confidence your car is going to be built. Then it's just a question of when.

DCX has a toll free that you can check you order status:

• Call 1-800-992-1997.

• The sequence to input is 1, 2, 5, 2, 3... your phone
number, then 1. This brings you to a human who can update you on your order status.

Mr. Zilla, I just tried to call DCX as you suggested, and your number sequence doesn't work. They must have changed their system, as the first "1" is to indicate "if you know your party's extension". I did reach I live person by pressing 2, then 5 - that's all. They attempted to look up my VIN number with no luck, and told me that they needed to know the VON! I didn't have it with me, so no dice.

I do know I'm in plain "D" status, thanks to Speckler at myLXInfo.com, but was hopeful that I could get a better idea of when it might move forward from there by calling this number.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the sequence of numbers you gave us doesn't work anymore. If there's still a way to go deeper into DCX customer service (by using so many numbers like your post suggested) let us know - if I can reach someone more knowledgable I'd like to do it!

I had an order fill in September and we delivered the car in the middle of November. I have another car fill in November for production and it is going to be produced in December for January delivery. First one was black second one is red. Yeehaw!! Sometimes dealers order a car for a price to someone but then sell it to another for more money. They'll just keep the first guy in limbo until they get him a car.
