Charger SRT-8 That thing got a Hemi? Indeed, a 6.1L Hemi that is. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 pounds the pavement with severe power.

Default SRT-8 vs. Ram SRT-10

Has anyone ever raced their SRT-8 against a Ram SRT-10?

I'm kinda curious as to who would be the victor. I've always wanted to go up against one, but have never had the opportunity to since they are a rather rare sight in my hometown.

Default RE: SRT-8 vs. Ram SRT-10

I have a 2006 Charger SRT-8 and a 2005 Ram SRT-10 Quad cab. I had my wife drive the car and I drove the truck and she has to be coaxed to put her foot into it. But from a rolling start of around 40 mph up to 100 mph the Charger will take the truck just by a small margin (maybe half to a car length). Obviously the Quad cab truck is a lot heavier so the extra 80 HP it has just can't make up for the extra weight. I was going to drag race both of them a couple weekends ago to get a better comparison but the weather was bad and it never happened. Hopefully this fall I will get another chance to see how they stack up on the track. Now keep in mind my truck is the quad cab and an automatic. I'm guessing a Charger SRT-8 would have it's hands full with a regular cab manual tranny SRT-10...in fact I'm guessing it would get beat! But it would be very close and a lot of fun to try over and over again!!

I have to admit the truck is probably a little more fun because it is more "raw". It shifts like it means it and throws you back in the seat while the car glides through the gears smoothly leaving you with the impression that you aren't accelerating as quickly. But the truth is the SRT-8 does move faster. I had a Viper for 8 years and just sold it recently. Now that is the best of both worlds but unfortunately it doesn't double as a practical daily driver.
