Hey everyone! Just spreading the word that the slotted, replacement brake rotors are now out for the LX SRT-8s. Supposedly, these are supposed to solve the squealing and brake fade issue.

Here are the part numbers: 05290537AB and 05290538AB

Now all we need is for the folks at Mopar to hurry up and release all those goodies that they keep promising us 6.1 Hemi drivers.

 

and this is a recall part or purchase part? I dont hear any noise from my brakes. may be a climate thing as well.

 

The dealership is replacing all four of my rotors with the new slotted-style free of charge. I wouldn't call it a recall- more of a retrofit item. If you haven't heard the "old yellow school bus" style squeal from your brakes yet, you will soon enough.

 

my SRT8 Dealership has mentioned the replacement rotors but was swayyying to it being my cost !!!! The brake dust is unbeleivable!!!!

 

You say that this is supposed to fix the brake noise, but is it also realated to the mountain of daily brake dust?

 

I'm doubtful if the slotted rotors will stop the dust issue, but who knows?

My rotors should be arriving in approximately 5 days- I will inform everyone of any changes I notice once they are installed.

 

Get ceramic pads. They do miracles for brake dust.
