Torsion bar question
I'm putting a 318 in a slant 6 1970 Swinger. Is it a must to put bigger torsion bars in because of the weight difference if I'm only using it as a regular once in awhile driver or is that just for racing?
if yournot gonna be racing i would swapp out to at least a 318 bar cuz with the added weight of a the v-8 the front will drop a bit and prolly be bouncy. i have hemi bars in my small block challenger not to stiff and she corners like its on rails
The only way I've done it has been installing a small block K member, Schumacher? swap mounts look ok. Brakes and bar rates kinda depend on what you want to get out of it. I've had 440 inA body with 6 cylinder drums ya just need to think more when hitting the brakes! That car soon did a junkyard morphed disc front and 11" rear drums.
Small block engine/904transand 225/baby904 similar weight's.
Was not aware yearone had a swap kit for it.
Seems to me that in the swap's I've done the 225 to RB block cars LA bars were better, and the 225 bars with LA worked well also.
