How difficult is it to swap out a 318 for a 340 on a 69 Dart GT? Hoping it's a simple bolt in.

 

they bolt up the exact same, 318-340 and 360

 

Only have to worry about more snap to your neck

 

the 360 uses a different engine mount bracket, i think it is the passengers side, but the 318/340 are the same. If you dont already have one, you might look into swapping in A 727 auto while you have it apart. These trannys are much more durable than the 904 that probubly came behind the 318

 

ive swapped a 318 to 340 (not in a dart though) and it was a direct swap/bolt in. i will also support horseapples comment about the 727. if youre going to want performance, i would strongly suggest the stronger trans.
