Mannix GTS
Just read an interesting write up on the '68 convertible GTS used for the popular show Mannix. Apparently, it was originally red, then painted Dark Green by Berris along with the Cragars, special european "fog lights", and "functionalized" holes in the bulge hood scoops. It was a340 car, not 383 as most assumed.
The car was found distressed under a troopers watchtower in CA (I think). It has now been restored, recently shown at the Mopar event in Carlisle, PA.
Anyway, I thought interesting so passing along here. I remember watching that show as a kid and it made a mopar impression on me!
Yep, the transportation coordinator for that show must have been a mopar fan, or more likely, struck a great deal w/ Chrysler back then. If you ever watch re-runs, almost ALL cars on the show are mopars...even the bad guys. Everything from New Yorkers to Belvederes...pretty cool. Of course, Mannix drove all mopars too throughout seven of the eight seasons it aired. The exception being the Olds Toronado custom, complete w/ side pipes in the 1st season.
