Default 727 trans

I have received a 727 trans. I would really like to know exactly what it is. I have no idea year or anything. The numbers on the pan rail above the gasket------PK521191762686 2147 Any help is appreciated.............

A 727 transmission is a four speed automatic. It is called TorqueFlight by Dodge and was used in cars in 1954 to present (I think it is still used). I have one on my 1971 Demon:

A 518 transmission would be a five speed (overdrive),

My fault, 3 speed not four speed. Listen to BadStratRT as I am new to the 727. Te 518 is a four with overdrive,

I would like to know exactly what year the trans is, and is it an electronic shift. There are wires coming out of the speedo. Numbers on the pan rail on the original post. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I can see, it is a post 1974 transmission as the 5211... is beyond the reference manual I have. Hope that helps a little...
