Default need some serious advice on my 76 dart sport build

This is my first forum, and I'm posting from my cell phone, so spelling might be bad. But I'm curious, I have a rolling 76 dodge dart with no body work that needs done, but it needs a motor and Trans. I have a 318 and 727 Trans out of a 79 4X4 power wagon 1/2 ton. Can I swap out the tail end of that Trans by removing the transfer case and slapping on the trail end of a two wheel drive Trans? And for the 318 motor I have 340 heads (the ”X” heads with bigger valves) and a camshaft with a double timing chain that came with the heads, I wanna know if those heads will drop my already low compression and if there is a good easy solution to make up for that compression loss, like turbos? Or shaving the heads a little?Idk. Just trying to work with what I got. And how about piston to valve clearance? Will that cam push those valves into my pistons? This is gonna be my first engine build so I'm not too sure. I'm just going for a slightly Better than stock 318 with the few parts I got laying around.

Indy Cylinder Head make great engines and engine parts. Check out www.forabodiesonly.com if you do not get any help in this section.
