Default a few questions about demons

I got the idea in my head a while back that I wanted a late 60s/Early 70s muscle car. I have been keeping my eye out on some certain forums, craigslist, even eBay occasionally.

I recently saw someone selling a 1971 dodge demon, 3 speed tranny, 340 engine, and the body looks pretty good. Although it is missing the "demon" emblems. The seller said there were some minor scratches and a couple small dings, but the car runs, and runs well (according to the owner). The interior looks pretty good too, clean and original from as far as I can tell.

The seller is asking for a little over 7k which is around my price range. Seems good but I have no clue what these sell for and was hoping some people with better knowledge of these cars could enlighten me.

Thanks!

'71 Demon had decals, not emblems (those were '72 only and the devil was eliminated). I would check the VIN (LM29H1xxxxxx) to be sure it is a 340 car, 7K seems a little light if it is a true H code. If it is indeed a V8 look on the side of the block and be sure it is a 340 and not a 273/318. Hard to value it without seeing it, but a true 340 roller could fetch 7K needing full restoration.

I paid $12,000.00 for a numbers matching 1971 Demon 340 that I later sold. The price was a bit high, but I wanted the car.
